Australian Sanctions against Russia Came into Force
Today Australian sanctions against Russian Federation have officially come into force. Australian government made announcement about their plans earlier in September2014.

According to available information Australian sanctions are actually equal to those that have been implemented by countries of EU, Canada and the United States. They mainly deal with export and import limitations of weaponry, limited export of equipment for oil mining and research works as well as some equipment which is necessary for energetic branch and mining in Crimea and Sevastopol. At the same time Australian government limited volume of investments in Russian economic projects as well as prohibited some officials entering territory of Australia,

It should also be noted that first package of sanctions was implemented by EU in March 2014 after Russia accepted claim of Crimean and Sevastopol citizens to become a part of Russian federation. In response to such actions Russian government has also limited supplies of some products and goods from the territory of Australia, Canada, Norway, the United States and EU.
