Argentinian futures exchange is considering Bitcoin offering

According to Bloomberg's current report, "Mercado de Termino de Rosario" (Rofex) in Latin America is focusing on how it can offer cryptocurrency futures within its package of offerings. Rofex has previously developed its plans to provide services for storing a digital asset and using bitcoin as collateral in futures trading for its customers.

The head of Rofex, Diego Fernandez, said in an interview that the possible offering is at "laboratory stage", and that the firm plans to make the announcement before the end of the year.

It is noteworthy that Fernandez also pointed out that, for the main financial institutions, cryptocurrencies are increasingly being seen as another way to expand business directions.

When asked why Rofex would provide the service, he replied "because this is our main business", although he added that the company would still need to seek regulatory approval before launching any product from bitcoin.

The news follows on the heels of the CME Group futures market from the U.S., which has announced this week that it plans to launch bitcoin futures contracts by the end of this year. This step is waiting the approval of the regulatory bodies.
