Apple has registered the brand names "Reality One, ""Reality Pro," and "Reality Processor," according to Bloomberg. The brand names are probably intended for the virtual reality glasses that the company wants to present in early 2023. The registration of the brand names suggest that Apple is working on multiple devices. In addition, the name 'Reality Processor' points to the arrival of a special processor for these glasses. Since 2017, it has been rumoured that Apple is working on virtual reality glasses. It is expected that the device will be a so-called Mixed Reality glasses. Mixed Reality glasses combine the real world with a virtual world. The user sees through the glasses the real world supplemented by virtual things that can only be seen through the glasses. Apple has been developing the underlying technology for years. Recent iPhones and iPads are equipped with a so-called AR kit. This makes it possible, for example, to see whether new furniture would fit in the living room via the camera and the monitor. The registration of the brand names is no guarantee that the glasses will actually get those names. They have not yet been officially awarded to Apple. Analysts expect Apple to present its virtual reality glasses in the first half of 2023. |
