Last race of the Biathlon Work Cup final leg took place in Khanty-Mansiysk. Anton Shipulin who is a leader of Russian team took silver in men’s mass-start. Unfortunately for Russian fans, his shooting was not excellent once again. However he managed to grab the second place in a tough challenge against Tarjei Boe. He showed the best speed result on track which made it possible for Shipulin to keep the title of mass-start king. Fak took the first place in this race. Silver in mass-start made it possible for Anton to win Small Crystal Globe which tuned out to be his first individual award. This title is given to the most successful sportsman in mass-start throughout the all stages of Biathlon World Cup. Shipulin has 242points after final results. Fourcade takes the second place in this standing and he was unable to do anything in order to take the challenge from Shipulin. Small Crystal Globe is rather important not only for Anton but also for the whole Russian team as it is the only individual award. In addition they have men’s team also has Small Crystal Glove for victories in relay. Speaking about Big Crystal Globe, this award went to Fourcade for the second time in a row. Shipulin takes second place in the final standings. It should be noted that Shipulin won three medals during 9th stage of the World Cup. They include two silver medals and one bronze award. |
