American Customs and Border patrol services form the research work of Blockchain

The consolidated report published earlier this week contains detailed information on the group formed in September by the Advisory Committee of Commercial Customs Operations (COAC). The authority, according to the CBP’s website, advises the Secretaries of the U.S. Treasury Department and the Department of Homeland Security on the commercial transactions of the CBP.

Despite the fact that the working group is focused on new technologies in general, the report says that the blockchain will be the main direction of research advancing.

So far, the advisory group has identified a number of possible options for using the technology
including such ideas as the seizure and tracking of licenses of state agencies, permits, certificates of origin reporting and free trade agreements, commercial qualifications.

The document states that the group is now exploring those use cases and determining how they can be deployed using blockchain technology.
