According to the forecasts of the International Energy Agency, the Russian Federation is expecting an increase in gas production. In particular, experts say that over the next five years it will amount to sixty billion cubic meters. The IEA notes that the increase in gas production in Russia until 2022 will be about 1.5 % per annum - from 640 billion cubic meters in 2016 it could grow to 700 billion cubic meters. At the same time, it was said that this would be facilitated by the launch of the Russian-Chinese gas pipeline "The Power of Siberia" as well as projects on liquefying gas in the Yamal Peninsula. According to IEA experts, one of the most important points of production growth can be called the expected increase in the export of Russian gas in liquefied form. The IEA noted that the Russian Federation has abundant, unproductive reserves in the Yamal Peninsula, and if used, the country will receive an average of 1.5 percent of gas production growth in the year to 2022. It was said that the increase in gas production is expected not only in Russia but also in the Middle East. In turn, national experts do not agree with the forecast of the IEA, noting that the growth rate will be several times higher than 1.5 percent per year. |
