103 Accidents Took Place in Nizhny Novgorod within Half Day

Unexpected winter comeback to Nizhny Novgorod resulted in heavy snowfalls. It led to numerous car accidents. It is already known about 103 traffic incidents which took place within half da on March 24th.

According to preliminary information provided by Main Traffic Police Department of Nizhny Novgorod region accidents were caused not only by mechanical malfunctions and technical problems of vehicles. Many accidents resulted in human injuries. For example, two persons were injured when SUV collided with auto yesterday in the morning. SUV driver was not able to handle with control and hit the auto which was moving along the incoming lane. Both drivers got wounds and scratches. Luckily there was no need to take them to the hospital for additional medical service.

At the same time snowy weather influenced local traffic conditions in a great way. Huge traffic jams and congested roads appeared in the center of Nizhny Novgorod including main roads on Gagarin and Lenin prospects as well as on Moscow highway and near Strogino Airport.

According to weather forecasts it will still be cloudy in the capitol of Volga region. The average daily temperature is about 3-4 degrees above zero while at night it will go down to -6 degrees below zero.
